Connecting places

The aim of this project was to create a connection point between two sides of the Nottingham Canal. A site analysis was conducted, and from this analysis was chosen the place and the client (focus) for the realization of the bridge.
The bridge should serve not only as a way of passing from one side to the other, but it should also be a meeting point for people, having an activity that would cause more people would use the canal.
I chose a place far from single bridge for pedestrian that currently exists. This place is near the marina and a hotel, and the other side is Castle Boulevard, which leads people to Nottingham Castle and the city center. Thereby my target audience would be tourists who will stay at the hotel and would like to go to the tourist sites of the city on foot or by bicycle in a faster way, and also show to these people that the Canal itself is also an important point the city.

The activity to be held in my bridge would be a tourist information center with a boat trip to show the history and ecological importance of the region. In this center would turisco food machines, bathroom and a reception desk.
