Art Direction - Thomas Heatherwick

Art Direction - The aim of this was to procuce a magazine cover with our given famous person. Ours was Thomas Heatherwick, an Architecture. The given task was to re-create the magazine cover using different props. After researching into his work and what he created, someone said that he was like the Da Vinci of our times. This lead us to what the article would be about in the magazine. The idea was to re-create some of his drawings in the style of Da Vinci. We concentrated on the Rolling Bridge in London and therefore re-drew the sketches in the style of Da Vinci, other props were to back up the story, the book being old, representing Da Vinci time. We used other props including a compass set, but felt that this was the better image. Around 30 different shots were taken, which we then had to narrow down to one, the most relevant one. We had the option to choose any magazine we wanted, but felt that the Icon Magazine was the more relevant for the project.
