Glassy Dance Slippers

The project idea came across my mind when I took a ballet class and started dancing again, after nine years. I used to dance when I was little, same as when I started drawing. However, I kept drawing and painting but stopped dancing. The memories reminded me of the carefree childhood I had, with my family, particularly my grandparents. The gum wrappers were first folded in hearts, which was an activity I did back in high school when I first fell in love. I decided to sew all the hearts into slippers instead of using tapes or glue, because sewing again reminded me of my childhood, when I learned to fix things with a needle and thread from my grandma. Hence, this object represents all my nostalgia towards childhood, grandparents, and all the pure feelings whenever I recall those memories.
