Music Festival Posters Reimagined in Swiss Style

It is indisputable to say that the International Typographic Style, also referred to as the Swiss Style, was a prominent part of graphic design history. The grid system and clean sans-serif typefaces used by innovators like Josef Müller-Brockmann changed the way print was made since the style's inception in the 50s.

Personally, I am a big fan of this style and therefore I wanted to make some Swiss posters on my own. But I wasn't sure what to include as my content. Then I saw that all these summer music festivals were starting to announce their line-ups and posters were being put up on the streets. I always love it when music festivals start putting out their line-up posters because they are beautifully made, especially the one for Gov Ball designed by Founders Entertainment. I decided to imagine how festival posters would look if they were designed in the Swiss Style. I used the sans-serif type Nimbus Sans similar to Helvetica, and basically played around with the grid and manipulated postive & negative spaces.

So, this was a fun personal project that I worked on. Thanks for checking it out!
