The fabric designs I create are deeply rooted in my photography. My process begins with an idea of the design I want to create which leads to my photographic archives in search of the perfect subject that will lend itself to the creation of the intended design. Once images are selected I move to the digital darkroom where the artistic process blossoms from a simple photograph into an enigmatic progression of color and digital manipulation.
Plaid Reimagined is a collection of digitally printed silk scarves created from a photograph of the sun setting over water. The designs were an attempt to create a line of repeatable plaids through the use of photography and digital imaging.
