This is a work in progress creating a fresh brand for Mediacast, a startup in the business of broadcast streaming and IPTV.
The previous incarnation of the logo was based on serif type and had a lot of play on the "c" to make into satellite dish, done to death in my opinion and not much scope there to make it unique in the incredible tech savvy branding sphere we live in.
I approached this with a bold sans typeface, and played on the connections and lines, a metaphor for beaming and connectivity to create the arching element cast over the type, down the list of images you can see the workings for the lines, adjusting them as I went along to give them the profile of a satellite dish.
