1. I love making stuff to experiment and challenge my design and design thinking skills.

2. I also love my sister to death, though she lives in another continent and we don't get to see each other often.

3. I love making original and meaningful gifts.

4. I'm also a college student, which means I have to find creative ways not to spend too much money. 

 

So, when Deutsch asked me to make something that had never been made before, I decided to put all the above things together and make my sister a gift for her upcoming birthday that she couldn't have found anywhere else. Her name is Claudia. She is an amazing animator, our favorite movie is Edward Scissorhands, and the game I've been forcing her to play since we were little is monopoly. So... there we go: Personalized Edward Scissorhands Monopoly for my bib sis!

 

It took a lot of...

1. love

2. watching the movie ( all the locations and cards in the game recreate the movie)

3. thinking about how to articulate the game (what to write on the cards, the game board, the rules, the designs of the money, the houses, ERRRRTHING)

4. designing 

.. to make this happen. 

 

But I'm really pleased with the result and I can't wait to ship it to her so we can feel close even if we live far away!
