I was asked to turn the two top floors of a TriBeCa townhouse into a penthouse apartment for the building owner and his partner. The decision was made to trade hundreds of square feet of living space for a massive two-story atrium. A black spiral stair celebrates this volume and connects the living room, kitchen, office and guest room on the lower level, with the master bedroom, spa and gym on the upper level, and finally, with the lounge and roof top garden at the top level.
