Inspired by a life changing Tuk Tuk journey across India, MATTER combines the artisanal craft of Indian block prints with the element of adventure to create pants to see the world in.
MATTER aims to encourage the value of provenance - the questioning of where and why something is made. Along with a bigger dream to mainstream textile artisanship, MATTER also champions a collective culture that connects artisans and designers.
MATTER main design direction of using hand prints celebrates the artisans - the very hands that made the product as well as the journey which links weavers, stitchers, and wood block print makers across India.
Postcards that come with the pants feature the actual villages involved in the manufacturing process, while other collaterals employ a use of blind deboss to subtly imply the block prints used.
