Brief

LOOKSOFINE is a mobile application that recommends daily fashion according to today’s weather. It provides weather information along with recommended fashion in the form of snap shot. The fashion contents gradually adapts to users' taste through their continuous feedbacks. It is a weather application that responds to weather and user's fashion preferences.

SITUATION

Weather app is an indispensable mobile app. There are flooding amount of weather related apps in the application stores today. People open the weather app the first thing in the morning when they wake up. This is because they need to know how much warmly or freshly they have to wear; whether they need to have cardigans on or not or whether they should take their umbrella or not and vice versa. However, the first thing you would ever see once you turn on your weather app is the present temperature, the highest temperature and lowest temperature in numbers. Numerical information makes it only difficult for people to grasp which clothes perfectly suit the today’s weather temperature. Most fashion related content consumers and producers are most active on Instagram than in any other exclusive fashion related services. This is because it is easy for Instagram users with familiar taste and interests to bind using Instagram's hashtag feature.

IDEA

LOOKSOFINE recommends daily looks according to today's weather. Users can intuitively know how much warmly or freshly they have to wear. Pictures can be filtered according to the categories the users’ favor; users’ taste is automatically curated and through feedbacks such as "Liking" and "Saving" pictures, developing more and more precise recommendations for daily wear. Users can see today's’ recommended style according to their taste. The app notifies the users when there will be rain or snow the day before.

Design Strategy

The traditional fashion related medium were all in the form of paper magazine. Fashion magazine use strong but simple typography in order to emphasize photos as much as possible. Reflecting these features in the mobile UI, we made the best use of the typography and layout features from the traditional magazines. The app is designed to show the whole photo. Aside from the “Feed” that groups photos, the concept is unified by limiting profile, menu, setting screen displays within the photo boundary.
