Clinometer - Mechanical Angle Finder

This is a tool to measure the angle of a point in space in relation to the horizontal. As an example, you could detect the height of a tree if you know how far away you are from the base of the tree. It is made possible by a spinning wheel with a pin attached to it, which, by looking through the two lenses, points to the legend engraved on the left lens.
Quick Sketches
After some initial sketches, I immediately started to develop several physical prototypes in order to be able to make quick changes and tests in terms of ergonomics and functionality. The final design was manufactured on a CNC router. Furthermore, a laser cutter was used for the acrylic lenses and the spinning wheel alonside a Stratasys 3D printer for the eye protecting rubber. The weight (steel) on the wheel was cut out using a waterjet cutting machine.
