CHALLENGE
I collaborated with another designer to create a library for UI patterns across all Vertafore products. Much of the insurance software products that Vertafore was developing were in flux when we started work on the pattern library, which made it hard to identify specific needs.

PROCESS
Concept Development:
The first few weeks were spent whiteboarding concepts for the overall interaction model.
Wireframes:
With a rough interaction model in mind we were ready to start wireframing. Since the next generation products were not well defined, we began by helping the client team wireframe the product before considering the pattern library site.
Integration With Client Team:
We went beyond wireframes on this project and examined how this tool would fit into the context of Vertafore's organization. Our team created a Process diagram to determine who will publish patterns and a Training Guide for how to do it.

RESULT
A development partner built the site and my team trained Vertafore designers and developers how to use the library, which is in use today.
