This is my first project. Please do not take it as the finest piece of art because that it is not! This is simply in relation to the recent updates Microsoft have made to Windows 10 Technical Preview for phone. This is based on the currect look of the email client on Windows Phone, just to showcase the ellipsis as an alternative to the Hamburger button.

I decided to proceed with designing an alternative, and yes this can be presented more beautifully. However, here is an illutration showcasing my idea in comparison to the dreaded "Hamburger" button. I think that Ghani Pradita has done a great job (http://on.be.net/1yfyRwk) with presenting another alternative to the burger button, a slideout illustrated by a verticle line just visible to the left of the screen that slides out the menu.

The ellipsis at the bottom right of the screen is very much in reaching distance and already serves a purpose that I believe can evolve to show more detailed menu. This is just a natural progression of an idea and something that Microsoft might want to look into going forward. Although, the burger button bears resemblance to that in W10 apps, for phones there needs to be a more intuitive method of accessing the menu and in my vew this expension of the ellipsis serves that purpose. Also, this is in keeping with the original "Metro" UI, sometimes known as Modern UI.

It seems Windows Phone, and Windows in general is losing its identity due to the design and development on Windows 10, perhaps as a result of failing to gain significant markershare with Modern UI. I hope there is still room for change and would like to see more alternatives.
