Assignment:
Create two portraits of someone. It could be someone you know, someone you admire or just find interesting, it is up to you.
The first portrait has to be one of the person, and it does not have to be realistic.
The second portrait is where you tell us about the person without actually portraying the person.
In both assignments you can work with whatever material and technique you want.

(so this is the first portrait)

I decided I wanted to work in 3D, some kind of sculpture you could make stop-motion animation with and that is how I ended up with a ball jointed doll. I have never heard of them before, but once I saw the possibilities with having one I felt I had to do it.
His body is made of paper clay. I cut my own hair so he could have real hair and took some of my clothes to make him some tiny ones.
When I thought I was done, I was only half way through. I left the last carving "scars" on him, the white patches, because it is in a way beautiful.
The process took more than 100 hours to complete, trying to make everything fit and work.
But it was worth it all!
