Star Trek scene with the color pallette picked based on the show's color scheme, as depicted by the uniforms.
After creating the Star Trek scene, I felt compelled to work on something related to Star Wars. The Millennium Falcon seemed the perfect follow-up.
Experimenting with single-tone styles.
In this piece there is a relationship between the sizes of the circles. The 1x circles make up each "level" of the snake. The .5x makes up the scaley belly of the snake. The 2x circles help create the bends. The consistency deviates near the mouth as a way to differentiate the head of the snake.
I had a couple hours to conceptualize, sketch, and create a quick gift for someone. This is the result. This was a gift someone ordered, not a gift I was giving to someone personally.
Using perfect geometry gives a very smooth and clean look that is very pleasing to the eye. It is an art in and of itself to construct recognizable pieces using little more than basic geometry. The circles are not meant to show a relationship between the sizes of the varying circles, they merely demonstrate the construction of the piece was made with well-placed circles to create a pleasing form.
