In Tribute to the Japan Tsunami Relief Effort
My illustration is a metaphorical representation of japan and the tragedythat happened in March 2011.

The colorful koi fish represents japan, as it’s afish that is unique and cherished there. Its slithering out on waves from atipped fish bowl.
The cracked tipped over fish bowl represents the earthquake, the waves that the fish is sliding on represents the Tsunami, and the waterwithin the bowl that looks like a waterfall represents the large body of waterthat japan is surrounded by.
The splashy effect symbolizes the naturaldisaster, and the colour red the national colour of japan, but also evokes asense of urgency, reflecting the severity of the situation.
