In 1930, a third of all the meat consumed in the U.S. came from the Meatpacking Discrict in Manhattan - NY. Located in Little West 12th St, Steak Meatpacking Co. was renowned for its distinct quality meat that came from an Angus cattle farm in New Jersey. Manning the operation was Tom Butcher and his skilled crew. After hours, Tom and his men improvised a grill by the sidewalk where they would grill their Angus steaks on a stick. The 12th sidewalk became the place where all Meatpacking meat workers got together after work.

Em 1930, um terço da carne consumida nos EUA saía dos 250 frigoríficos e açougues do Meatpacking District, em Manhattan - NY. Localizado na Little West 12th Street, o Steak Meatpacking Co. se destacava pela qualidade de suas carnes trazidas de uma fazenda de criação de gado Angus em New Jersey. À frente do Steak MePa estava Tom Butcher e sua exímia equipe de açougueiros. Após o expediente, Butcher e sua turma improvisavam no passeio da 12th uma churrasqueira, onde assavam seus steaks Angus em pequenos espetos individuais. E assim, a 12th se tornou ponto de encontro dos açougueiros de Meatpacking.

Since the client had this story about the shop being a
revival of an old NY meatpacking plant, we created what would
have been its "original" logo. It was hand drawn in the 20's
and used mainly in meat packaging and aprons.

do antigo açougue do Meatpacking District, nós desenvolvemos
o que teria sido a sua marca "original", criada a mão na
década de 20 e usada em embalagens de carnes e aventais.
