Valentin Nguyen, a friend and psychology student–with research interests in bioethics and neuroethics–at Université de Montréal approached me to redesign L’Amnesique. Soon to become the Editor in Chief of the journal, he wanted to make an immediate impact through a complete redesign of the identity of the journal.
In collaboration with Valentin, I designed the visual art direction, branding, and page templates for the journal. While the cover had the potential to be custom made each month, the interior page templates needed to be system-like, all-encompassing, flexible, and easy to work with for whoever was to put together the magazine every month; even someone with no previous design experience like Valentin.
