1001 Afternoons in Chicago The Film

I had the pleasure of doing illustrations for 1001 Afternoons in Chicago: The Film.

As a collaborative project the featurette enlisted Chicago based artists, writers, editors and voice actors. The stories are loosely based on Chicago historical figure Ben Hecht, and his op-ed style of creative writing.

One of the central characters roams the city searching for the answer to what it means to be a Chicagoan.

The art seen here was done with traditional comic book techniques, a non photo pencil and brushed indian ink. With backgrounds left blank for the purposes of adding in photo based images.
