When idle, Apple TV would show useful information such as the weather, notifications, the time and the date.
A new search function would be introduced, making it easier for those with keyboards or other devices to find the content they're looking for more easily.
The posters on top would be come from the iTunes store, that instead of being three different apps, would now be one that sells TV shows, movies and music.
The background would change according the the poster selected.
in case you were selecting one of the apps, the background would me an animation of pictures from your camera roll ( Similar to the screensaver option currently available on the Apple TV)

As more and more channels and services come to the Apple TV, it starts to become more and more difficult to find the one you're looking for.
The search tool would help with that.
