In the following slides the process of achiving a futuristic concept regarding relationships is shown through strategic research and design forecasting tools. At the end of the section one of the final concepts is presented.
This storyboard shows the concept of the 4real building, a (not so much) futuristic concept where the connection between distant people can be close to reality.
As advanced by the research holograms are starting to be tremendusly realistic.
TO BE ABLE TO VISUALISE THIS CONCEPT SOME STEPS MUST BE EXPLAINED:
1) Imagine two identical building with fixed seats, tables and various objects depending on the purpose of the building (bar, meeting room, conference halls, etc..
2) Now imagine this building provided with and fully covered by scanners and hologram projectors.
The virtual images of people entering the building is projected to the identical building in the other side of the world and viceversa.
3)This creates an illusion of a place that does not take place in London nor in Tokyo but is in both cities and links people through technology. This may be seen as an illusion but the possibility of people to interact with the same environment like sitting in the "apparently" same table with a drink in the hand and have a conversation in the "apparently" same bar crowded with people from both cities would take the emotional impact of distant connections to a completly different level making it very close to reality wherever reality is not feasible.
