I joined Zandel Media for a few months as all rounder contract 3D/FX artist.
I really liked this project because it required a good spectrum of skillset: real time 3D, movie FX, compositing and a good mix of open source softwares and classics!
All the prerender and realtime scenes have been made with Blender. I used After Effects for the color correction and the rotoscoping part of the project. Photoshop helped a lot too.
Finally the game scenes were integrated in Unity.
I think Blender was the best choice available for this kind of project where you need to mix movie shots, photo-realistic prerender and realtime 3d assets.
