The process started off with a site analysis of the urban context. Studying the vehicular density and pedestrian density pointed out where problems of flow occur.
An alternative traffic route was proposed to reduce traffic from the Mosta centre. This led to converting the street infront of the Mosta dome into a one way in the direction to Birkirkara. Also a proposal for a different mode of transport to the centre was done. It involved a shuttle service, and the routes taken are explained in the image below. Three main nodes that surround Mosta were created including alternative pedestrain/biking paths free from vehicular traffic.
The above strategy gave the required boundaries to start designing the piazza. Sketches were done to develope the design using visual links and connecting nodes.
