The brief for this project was to develop an understanding of the thinking and processes that go into visualising complex information into a concise, simple and easy-to-understand diagram. Thorough research into sustainability provided data that could be compared and visualised in a poster format. 

 

The topic that I chose to visualise was the sustainability of an iPad versus the sustainability of a traditional book. The concept behind the creative solution was based on a boxing match between two contestants. Traditional boxing match posters influenced my use of typography, colour and layout. 

 

The information is represented in five rounds on the poster. The rounds tell a story between the two contestants as statistics between them are compared with one another. The narrative of the poster thus ties all the information together and helps to guide the reader eye.
