This design is based on an authentic Korean traditional pattern, Sabang, but is quite different. Firstly, I used a thin 30mm timber stick for the frame other than the classical sabang’s thick rectangle stick. When using such thin materials for making the structure, like the connection of the Three-Way Mitre Joint, work becomes very difficult as it does not allow even the smallest of mistakes.
And another trait of this art is the unique projection of an image like the name of art itself. If you see a couple of frames together, this makes another very interesting pattern of Korean and oriental authentic pattern. Each pattern is asymmetrical but makes good harmony and a unique formation when we see these unusual structures blend into each other.
All the tiny connections using the traditional setting required technique however the fine lines around the table present a modern vibe to this piece of work.
