Sketching.
Defining the head. I usually build my characters from a consistent line but this time I choose not to do it except for the face and the hat.
I finish the basic shapes adding color masses.
In this step I add some details and shadows, and slightly widen the right arm. I think the illustration already runs, but I have in my mind a backlight image...
I add my backlight and a bright yellow layer on multiply mode.
Finally, I remove the multiply layer. I enlarge a little more the right arm and shake off some excess light from it. What's more I change the texture wheels and the skateboard color. I think the thunder gives strength to the image.
I finish the illustration adding some extra lights to the figure, improving the drop shadow shape and customizing the focus light with some psychedelic texture.
