Since the beginning of civilization, there have been plenty of social and ecological problems that have had a harmful impact on the nature. The subject of how to handle plastic waste, proposed by Segunda llamada in 2013 for the 3. International Poster Competition, is incredibly urgent in the era science, technology and economic development: it’s important to adress this topic as society evolutes and transforms the relation with our environment.
The project includes a set of text propositions and posters as forms of struggle with the plastic pollution. It was created to participate in Segunda llamada`s social action presented by an exhibition of 40 finalists` posters placed on the Mexico city central streets in the assigned order.
The poster “Don`t shoot!”/“¡No dispares!” is one of finalists of the 3. International Poster Competition 2013 in Mexico (Mexico city) under the subject “Responsible Handling of Plastic Waste” organised by Segunda llamada. As a participant the project was pub- lished in the catalogue of Segunda llamada 3. International Poster Competition 2013. Moreover the poster was presented on the exhibition Nave Generadores 2014 in Exposición Segunda llamada 2013 in Mexico (Nuevo León).
