There is an out of commission fountain on our front patio that has become the perfect home for all types of little desert insects and arachnids. Recently, we noticed a black widow constructed a massive web in the fountain, and we promptly drenched it with bug poison. The following day we were surprised to find the black widow had crawled out to the center of the web and died. I was so excited to get the opportunity to photograph this beautiful spider up close, without the fear and danger of getting bitten. I was very pleased with the results. I wanted a spooky feel, because I photographed the spider close to Halloween. I used a Canon Rebel T2i, and edited with Adobe Photoshop Elements 9
