This video documents an installation piece titled Urban Living(room). It took place from 8 to 9PM, February 3, 2015, on the uptown platform of the 8th St. / NYU subway. Karen Wang and I aimed to transpose a small, cozy living room into the context of a cold, unwelcoming subway station. After setting up, we stood far enough away to not be associated with the scene, hoping to observe people’s unbiased reactions. Through photos and audio recording, we documented the behavior of those individuals who interacted with our work.
