First I opened Adobe Photoshop CC 2014, located in “All Programs.”  Then I named the project “New”, and change the width and height from “inches” to “pixels.”  I went to the “image” tab at the top of the screen and “canvas size” and changed “inches” to “pixels” & both the width and height to “600”.  I opened the tablecloth image to use as the background.  The layer will be locked on the right hand side of the screen, so I clicked the layer and unlocked it.  Since it is not scaled to fit the canvas size, I went to the top tool on the left and moved the tablecloth to fit the blank space.  I next opened the plate image, and right clicked the third tool down (lasso) and selected “polygonal lasso tool”

Outline the entire perimeter of the plate; what is outside of this perimeter will be separated from the plate
13.  Click on the layer “plate.psd @ 66.7%” and drag it down
14.  From there you can click on the plate and drag it onto the tablecloth in the screen behind the plate
15.  Close the plate window without saving
16.  Position the plate in the center of the tablecloth and change the view from 66.7% to 100 or 150%
17.  Double click the name “Layer 1” on the right hand side with the layers and rename it “plate”
18.  Rename “Layer 0” to “Tablecloth”
19.  Using the eraser tool on the plate layer, erase any of the background from the edges and make it clean and precise
20.  Open the slice of bread JPG, Bacon JPG, Lettuce JPG, and tomato JPG
21.  Rename them and move them around with the other layers
22.  On each individual layer, erase any imperfections and position them stacked onto one another like a sandwich would be displayed.
23.  To resize or rotate any layer: “edit”, “free transform” and when finished editing hit “enter”
24.  Select a side item on google and save the image, insert it and complete the same editing process used on the other layers.
25.  Choose a drink image from an aerial view and insert and edit that image.
26.  Make sure each layer is named and edited properly, placed in the correct order, and resembles a real food dispay.
27.  Save the entire project under your personal “02” folder named “Sandwich Project”

Making a BLT

This was my first project using photoshop, and I created a BLT by layering images and adding elements to make it appear real.
