To satisfy its themes of substance abuse and cyclical domestic self-destructivness, I produced this for Independent Theatre's 2015 production of Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey into Night.
I wanted nostalgia, but I didn't want to get swept up in a homage. Colour selection began as a little nod to O'Neill the Irish American. This palette provided a practical range of highlights, mids and shadows that could be drainded well to convey sickliness. They provided just the right strength, and just the right softness.
