The first exploration started in a format of an experiment, where a question was posed, hypothesis was made, and an experiment was executed. Each participant was introduced to the “experiment” though the following format:
Question
Do we have an imbedded desire to create linear stories based on our visual findings?
Hypothesis

If I present an audience with a selection of terms, and direct them to connect the ones they find appealing, then they will potentially be creating linear stories creating a vibrant visual web.

Experiment
The viewer will face three columns of key terms pulled from the readings connected to the idea of accelerated perception. The goal of the viewer is to take the thread from the entry point and self–guide it to the exit point.

Each column consists out of 19 terms, a total of 57, laid out in alphabetical order. The targeted sample size is 15 due to the number of entry points. Each viewer has an allotted time frame for his/her individual visual exploration. The time frames vary on a cyclical random base ranging from 15 seconds up to 60 seconds. The end of each time frame is announced via audio method signifying the end of viewer’s interaction with the piece.

As the process was taking its course, a shift occurred where the interest in creating pseudo experiments and exploring interactions was supplemented with the desire to document the creative journey. Documentation included how different individuals take part in trying to create a narrative from extremely deconstructed bodies of text.

The end result was a creation of an accelerated documentary–type of a video.
