Masks - The Tengu Demon

Masks - The Tengu Demon

Again one of the demons spoke "A sword is something for cutting and a spear is something for thrusting. What could they be used for beyond this? Listen, form follows ch'i and ch'i follows the mind."
The Demon's Sermon On The Martial Arts, Issai Chozanshi (18th century samurai)

This is my first in a series of work on masks and the masquerade. Here we have the tengu forest dwelling Japanese demons with long noses, half bird, half men. They are known to be terrifying supernatural creatures who know the secrets to swordmanship and the universe. Some people believe they really do exist :)

3d, 2d mixed media piece . All crits welcome.
