Here are some layouts for animated parts for a documentary about Meds Yeghern (Armenian for “the great crime”), 1915. 100 years after the massacre. Religious excuses are always used to solve economical needs. And many people die just because they are not the culture they should be. Nothing has changed today!
Many peasants were moved to desert regions without any possibility for a new start.
Many people died from starvation or were shot.
Some turkish officers tried to stop the massacre or though save children, but kids prefered to stay with their families.
This is just a quick animation test to understand the transitions, made in Flash not in AE as it should be. I worked only as an artist at this project. But helped with animation a little.
Some arabian families took armenian girls, making them servants, covered their hands and faces by tattoos. They were difficult to distinguish from the arab women. Many of these girls grew and stayed in harems for all their life, being ashamed to ask for help. They already had had babies.
Some armenian veterans of turkish army tried to attract international attention to the situation by capturing english-turkish bank.
