Below are concept sketches for a stainless steel, chimney style ventilation hood for the Thermador brand. I was responsible for the Thermador ventilation products from 2008-2012. This ventilation hood is currently offered in 36" & 48" widths.
Early concepts had bright LED lighting & a recessed control. SketchUp + KeyShot + Cintiq.
In the final concept the controls were moved to the front, which made cleaning easier. The buttons are slighly offset from the front surface making them easier to control by feel, and the LED indicators shine through the stainless steel by means of a micro-punched tool. NX + KeyShot + PS.
