{ Combining Technologies to Enrich Design }
‘The computer is a wonderful tool, but it is only that: a tool.’
John Foster 2009
My honours-year project explores and illustrates the ways in which a designer can integrate a number of digital and traditional tools of production into a design process in order to enrich and enhance the communication.
Employing contemporary letterpress, printmaking techniques, turps transfers, hand writing and laser cutting, I have created an informative guidebook about the Heaphy Track. The guidebook takes the reader on a journey as it visually recreates the physical and emotional experiences of mountain biking the Heaphy Track.
