The deportations of tens of thousands of Upper Silesia citizens to forced labour in the Soviet Union in 1945 were one of the greatest twentieth-century tragedies that hit this Polish region. This tragedy has left a painful wound in the Upper Silesian community. Inhabitants of Silesia were transported mainly by rail.
 
Opening ceremonies of Documentation Centre of Upper Silesians Deportation to the USSR in 1945 in Radzionkow, that took place in February 2015 were accompanied by this poster.
The idea of this centre is to bring together in one generally accessible place, maximum of knowledge related to the deportations and allow to share it to all interested persons.
