[IRVINE MOVEMENTS] Haulage firm branding concept

[IRVINE MOVEMENTS]
Branding concept for a local haulage firm
Irvine Movements is a local haulage, removals and relocation company with a fleet of seven vehicles, offering both domestic and commercial services, as well as storage facilities.  The company simply uses currently uses a plain typographical name in uppercase with no particular standout features to identify them and make them memorable.

Keeping similar colours to those being used by the company at present, I created a new logo to increase brand awareness.  Blue is a good colour to retain as it signifies trust, reliability and swiftness.  The initials of the company form the basis of the logo.  An arrow is formed in the negative space created by removing a triangular section from the left side of the 'M' to represent forward movement, while the middle part of the 'M' gives the impression of movement in another direction, putting strength on the aspect of movement.  The cropped triangular section is moved to the right side of the letter 'M', to represent relocation from one place to another, and to continue the illusion of forward movement through the logo.

The slogan "moving you forward" was also chosen to accompany the logo.

The livery for the truck is chosen to be relatively simple and plain, so that it can be easily identified at a glance.  The business card (flipped vertically from side to side) and envelope designs are almost reversed in colour to the livery choice, as I feel that more impact can be made with busier layouts, to represent a rebranding of the business as dynamic and forward-thinking.
