TIMELESS
A book celebrating the King of type, Baskerville. 

I designed this hardback book on the typeface Baskerville, in order to celebrate and appreciate the beauty of Baskerville. The idea behind the design is the essence of Baskerville, focusing on the characters and making them larger than the page so that the main point of focus is the essence, and the use of the contrasting negative space, allows for the beauty to be more obvious. I also printed black ink on black paper, to represent the idea that the beauty isn't always seen that it is hidden, and this was a simple way of suggesting that. These black pages also allow for chapter breaks between pages and writing, to keep an interesting layout throughout. I created a book rather than any other format, such as an app etc, because Baskerville is best known for being the best book face and so I felt it most appropriate to show it in all its glory.

Beauty, elegance and versatility were the key words I created my designs around.
Baskerville is a classic, it's timeless, and this is what this book celebrates.
