RGD DesignThinkers Conference

The Challenge
In the summer of 2014, the Association of Registered Graphic Designers (RGD) came to us in search of a theme and fully branded campaign materials for DesignThinkers, a two-day design-centred conference held in Toronto. The RGD had an impressive line-up of speakers and a great venue but little else.

The Approach
The theme for the DesignThinkers conference was “The Awakening” and was based on aliens descending upon earth to reprogram the minds of designers and draw out-of-this-world inspiration. Designers were urged to elevate their minds or be left behind. Posters, books, videos, websites, etc. were all created to convince the industry that only those who attended would be enlightened.

The Results
The buzz created around the visual communication for “The Awakening” was better than we could have ever hoped. The conference attracted participants from across North America and garnered its highest attendance ever.
