The Travel Exhibition of "Herstory--Chinese American Women,
165 Years of Struggle and Success"
The earliest Chinese American women came to the U.S. in 1785, they were mostly merchant’s wife and housemaids. In the pursuing 165 yeas, they established an impressive legal history fighting for their human rights to become American citizens and then, fighting for their dignity as American citizen. We put together milestone legal stories involving them since 1853 and celebrate those great women with installation artworks and video artworks. We intend to break away from the usual historical posters exhibitions, and to show that art speaks louder than words!
