Goat Card is a new article of Oriental Collection and it symbolizes the year of Green Goat (2015). Oriental Collection is a self-promotional project that is supposed to last 12 years and includes 12 greeting cards representing 12 symbols according to Chinese Zodiac. Style of this project is a mix of cultures and times.
Floral ornament is based on Petrykivka art, traditional Ukrainian painting which originates from Petrykivka village and is added to UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists.
The idea is to concentrate on symbols since we all live in the world full of them. With Goat Card every customer can be personally involved in searching of the symbol of the year. There is short explanation inside the card that gives an idea on possible actions – “Fold the card like a hand fan to get your personal Goat”. However people with deep intuition can just follow the folding lines in their search.
Goat Card has two states. It can serve as a regular greeting with printed floral ornament as well as it can be transformed to decoration in the shape of goat mask. Decorative Goat can be hung on a Christmas tree or just on the wall. The main peculiarity of the design is how simple geometry allows transformation that leads to a surprising result.
