The British Isles have a diverse coastline, and unfortunately the water quality can vary just as much. This project was developed to discuss the cleanliness of our seas. Each of these beaches is classed as being clean for bathing under EU regulations, however, this is qualified through the breakdown of a small selection of data collected over the year; often when the sea is naturally in a cleaner state. The result being that even these recognised beaches may hold a hidden secret on any given day.
These minimalist seascapes are presented along side data taken directly from their respective EU bathing data (2004/2005).
Whilst not intended to discourage people from enjoying the sea, their intention is more to ask us to respect and not take them for granted; and that we cannot judge them merely by their apprearance and location.
