Orpheus and Eurydice on a swing GIF

The myth of Orpheus appears around the 6th century B.C. but has remained vivid to this date in western imagination thanks to three stories central to modern perception of Art, Love and Spirituality. Difficult to be more universal than that!

SpareTag.com revisits the myth of Orpheus in a creative 90-second-short video, using fully animated masterpieces from Frans Pourbus, Joseph Edgar Boehm, Joseph Benlliure y Gil, Bocklin, Rodin, John William Waterhouse and others.

The video explores first the coming of age of Orpheus as a musician and poet; then his love story with Eurydice; before the myth ends with Orpheus’ own death. SpareTag.com took some liberty with the traditional myths to emphasize the artist selfish temptation, create additional plots and counterplots, and finish with a happy afterlife ending.
