This was a project done for a Delhi based company ‘Sahil & Sarthak Designs’. I was appointed to paint an Autorickshaw using the designs provided. The Auto rickshaw was designed and fabricated to be put up as an installation in a newly built five star hotel in Coimbatore.
The idea behind creating these "Social Autos" was to create movable installations that are embellished with the crafts, colours and graphics of the respective cities and can also be used as a mini food van or a hotel gift shop.
As soon as I got this project, I started questioning myself about what can this project be for, and what impact will it leave on the viewers. But as soon as I went deep in the understanding the concept behind the project, I got to the cultural aspect of it through which the artist wanted to convey to its viewers.
Painted the Autorickshaw in the given designs with Enamel paints.
Painted these Art pieces with acrylic colours on MDF (Medium Density Fireboard)
The Final look of the Autorickshaw after the Art pices were attached to it.
