Visual Tools for Community Decision-Making
Residents’ associations often lack the resources and expertise of larger authorities, meaning they are at a disadvantage when communicating with local councils about issues in their area.
My project provides residents’ associations with a comprehensive set of community mapping guidelines, enabling them to communicate their opinions in visually effective ways. This will allow for better dialogue and decision-making between community and council.

The guidelines are in a step-by-step format and consist of a colour-coded flowchart poster, and a book documenting my process researching a community issue in Mt Cook, Wellington, New Zealand.
