Illustrations for fairy tale "Demon's adventure" Marko Vovchok. 

Storyline tells the story of Svirid Kostomakha, who met a sad demon on his way back home, after visiting a friend at night. Sad demon told Svirid about how he fell in love with a woman and she broke his heart. Svirid boasted that he will give advice to the demon, but did not come up with something to say. So demon lost his patience and began to run after scared Svirid. 

 

The story ends well: Svirid woke up in the morning near the river. But no one believed him that he had met a demon.

 

Tale written Ukrainian language and it used the old forgotten words. But at the same time, these words give the Ukrainian tone and style to this fairy tale. 

 

I realy enjoyed reading and working on illustrations for this story.
