Narrative and proposal outline
Families that escaped from cities have not been an extraordinary case in for couple of last decades. In our narrative - due to developed internet co-working that connects every cosy room in as rural environment as a village like Važec with any place. Under these new circumstances, any people move away to enlive their dreams of living. Number of brand new village people grows and former abandoned settlements increase their volumes. For the next (and natural) growth is important to construct new dwellings as living roots, not a sort of parasitic branches on edge of a settlement. One of the ways how to make new houses a vital part of an existing structure is presented in our proposal.
Generally, it may be said there is a will to customize rather than to demolish. To rebuild a tiny house of our grandmothers to contemporary comfortable space for a new generation with new living expectations. The house does not want to become so-called ideal living behind a concrete fence with a ridiculuous level of privacy. In our perception, a village is not understood like an arogant enclosure covering a need to have a postal adress.
The proposal of the house consists of two main parts. The old house built in 50's is an important part of the new one, the principle of matrioshka caused natural devision to the calm night zone and the full-of-daylight zone outside the old house.
In this light, a structure principle is represented by massive walls of the old unit and new translucent polycarbonate envelope, which is attached to loadbearing wooden frame.
