3D Fractal Broccoli
This image is an experiment I did with Pixar's prman renderer. Itrepresents fractal vegetable Romanesco Broccoli (Brassica Oleracea). The flower is composed of spirally arranged segments which areidentical copies of the whole flower. The copying process continuesinfinitely as a 3D fractal form. The mathematical beauty and simplicityof this flower never stops to amaze me.
Creating this amount of geometry with code was challenging and a greatway to get familiar with the principles of procedural hard-codemodeling.
My special thenks for this project goes to prof Malcolm Kesson at Savannah College of Art and Design.Full technical brakedown is available here.
