The streets of urban Africa

In 2014 I visited Kenya as part of my internship due to my studies in Denmark. I have been in contact with a Nakuru based non-profit organization who helped me to get there safe. While I was helping them to document the hard work they do I used my spare time to discover this wonderful country and its potentials not from a touristic point of view, but to see places what people normally don´t visit. By my travel and journey, i could see the other side of the country and see what its people facing with every day.

Staying with locals is the best way to get to places where you usually wouldn’t go. Through the 3 months, I have made friends and become really close with locals. They are always welcoming to guests and they will definitely invite you for a Chai their favorite refreshment. When you just walk around the streets while trying to be invisible then you can see the areal face of the city

In this set, I collected my favorite pictures what I was taking on the streets mostly in Nakuru and Nairobi.

Nakuru, is the capital of Nakuru County in Kenya and former capital of the Rift Valley Province. It has 307,990 inhabitants, making it the fourth largest urban centre in the country and the largest urban centre in the Kenyan mid-west. Nakuru lies about 1,850 m above sea level.
I hope you like my work, if so leave a comment or write me.
The plan for my next visit is to go deeper in the country and visit the rural area.
